Components Flex-Mat
Overview
FLEX-MAT vibrating wire screens will provide more spec product at a lower operating cost, while delivering more wear life and eliminating blinding, pegging and clogging issues.
Vibration is the essential action needed when screening material. It allows coarse material to rise to the top and fine material to fall to the bottom.
When using static screening media (woven cloth, polyurethane or rubber panels, etc.), the only vibration is induced by the screen box which typically vibrates with a range of 500-1,000 strokes per minute. FLEX-MAT high-vibration wire screens have individual wires that vibrate independently at a high-frequency of between 6,000-10,000 strokes per minutes.
FLEX-MAT accelerates the stratification process and allows more material to pass through the screen.
Tensioned Screens BROCHURE
FLEX-MAT screen technology allows wires, bonded to lime-green polyurethane strips, to vibrate independently from hook to hook for faster material stratification. FLEX-MAT high-vibration wire screens are available in a side-tensioned or end-tensioned configuration.
D Series
- Standard pattern
- Square opening
- Equivalent to square woven
- Precise sizing
DD Series
- For high-impact and heavy-material applications as it absorbs impact better than the other applications
- Eliminates the “popcorn” effect caused by larger, single wires
S Series
Used with round or cubical-shaped material, or when precise passing is not required, FLEX-MAT S allows you to:
- Maximize open area
- Eliminate blinding
- Reduce fines
T Series
- Ideal for openings under 0.059″ or 1.5 mm
- Replaces fine mesh to better reduce binding
L Series
- Maximum open area for desanding and removing fines
- Lasts longer than traditional harp/piano wire, while keeping material in spec
- Ideal for compost and topsoil
Side Seals
Optional on all end-tensioned FLEX-MAT panels to prevent oversized material from passing between the screen cloth and screen box sides.
Overlaps
Highly recommended and offered as standard on tensioned Series D, T and S with openings of 3/8″ or 9.5 mm or less.
Crown Deck
Crown adapters are necessary in order to achieve the optimal crowned deck for your screen if the screen box was initially fitted with panels. The adapters can be installed on the flat decks that were originally designed to use modular synthetic screens or punch plates.

Woven Screens BROCHURE
Woven Screens are manufactured with an industry-leading stringent wire opening of ±3% and extremely tight crimps and weave for a longer wear life and the elimination of premature failure. Made with either their OPTIMUMWIRE technology or stainless steel wire, these woven screens outlast those of the competition.
SQUARE
- For general applications
- Provides precise passing
DOUBLE-WEAVE
- Square type for heavier applications (withstands up to 4 times more impact force than heavier single-strand woven screens)
- Provides precise passing
- Ideal for scalping and top deck applications (provides up to 50% more throughput than perforated punch plates at a lower cost)
SLOTTED
- Single or triple shute
- Removes fines
- Provides more open area than square openings
- Use with round or cubical-shaped material or when precise passing is not required
HYPERSLOT
- Produces vibration to reduce binding
- Tumbling effect for better fines removal
- Slows material down to provide more time for material to pass over the openings
SIDE SEALS
Recommended to prevent oversized material from passing between the screen cloth and screen box sides
OVERLAPS
Used to prevent product contamination on screens with openings of 3/8″ (9.5mm) or smaller when there are no cross members at the junction
